‘State Handloom Expo’ underway

A 14-day “State Handloom Expo” organised by the Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) Ltd and sponsored by the office of development commissioner (Handloom), ministry of Textiles got underway Thursday here, at Urban Haat, Dimapur.
The expo was inaugurated by Azheto Zhimomi, MLA, in the presence of NHHDC Ltd. managing director, Zakabo V Rotokha and other officials.
NHHDC Ltd informed that 60 participants, 18 from Assam, Manipur, West Bengal, Jarkhand, Delhi and 42 from Nagaland, are exhibiting their various goods and products at the expo.
NHHDC said the primary the exhibition was to develop and promote marketing channels in domestic and export markets and bring about linkage between the two in “holistic and integrated manner”.
It said the expo also aims to serve to provide marketing opportunities to handloom workers with special focus on talented and uncovered weavers.
