State level orientation for science and mathematics teachers of ERS

State level orientation for science and mathematics teachers of Eklavya Residential School (ERS) was held on February 10 at State College of Teacher Education, Kohima.
In a press release APRO, Wepre Kronu stated that the orientation programme was organized by Nagaland TRI in collaboration with State College of Teacher Education, Kohima funded by Tribal Research Institute Division, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, government of India.
Special guest, additional secretary, Tribal Affairs, Nchumbemo Lotha stated that the orientation programme was to ensure that teachers are promptly and effectively trained on their respective subjects.
He said that the modules covered under the programme would enable the new teachers to gain an in-depth understanding of the philosophy, culture, classroom management tenets and teaching and learning practices followed at the school.
Lotha stated that the foundation of every teaching should be to introduce critical thinking in children. The programme was chaired by Dr. Elizabeth Walling while vote of thanks was proposed by SCTE- K vice principal, Dr. Runi Nakro.
