A total of 20 Taekwondo players representing Nagaland are participating in the three-day Open India Kukkiwon Dispatched Master Championship which got underway on July 1 at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium Jorhat, Assam. The championship is organized by Titabor Dojang Taekwondo Academy.
The team is led by Visabiu Peseyie, state taekwondo coach and Khrieto as manager.
Coach Peseyie said the team from Sports Academy, IG Stadium, Kohima representing the state are participating in Kyorugi (sparring) competition. The first round matches began on Friday in different categories of Kyorugi, poomsae and gyeokpa.
