Students feted at ‘N.I. Jamir Academic Excellence Award’


Sixteen students from Ao community who emerged as toppers in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) 2022 examination were awarded with the “16th N. I. Jamir Academic Excellence Award” on July 23 at Merhulietsa, Kohima.
The toppers who were felicitated are, Toshimanen Jamir (Top 6), Nuksungla Walling (Top 7), S. Alimen (Top 8), Kirensungla Jamir (Top 9), Temjenlemla Longkumer (Top 12), Meyasenla Longkumer (Top 13), Akumsola Longkumer (Top 13), Aochina Jamir (Top 13), Narola Imsong (Top 14), Rachel Longkumer (Top 17), Katisongla Jamir (Top 18), Chuba T Aier (Top 18), Temjenkala Aier (Top 19), Pangersenla Lemtur (Top 19), Richetla (Top 20), and Tsuwanaro Jamir (Top 20).
Speaking on the occasion, minister for higher education, tribal affairs, Temjen Imna Along congratulated the students on their success. He said Nagaland was on the top list in literacy rate in the country; however, unfortunately the state also tops the unemployment rate in the country.
Earlier, welcome speech was delivered by Kohima Ongpangkong Telongjem (KOT) president, Jongpongtoshi, a short speech on behalf of the trust board was delivered by Imtiakum, and vote of thanks on behalf of N.I. Jamir family members, was delivered by Dr. Ralimongla.
