Students sensitised on conservation of biodiversity

Zunheboto Forest Division organised a plantation and awareness programme to commemorate “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Week” on May 2.
In a press release, office of the divisional forest officer (DFO) informed that during the programme, in their speeches, CF (NTC), Rongsenlemla, deputy commissioner (DC) Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali and SP Zunheboto Khekali Y Sumi spoke on the importance of planting trees and conserving the biodiversity.
The speakers also encouraged the students to adopt environment friendly habits and to spread the awareness on conservation of biodiversity.
The plantation drive was initiated through a ceremonial planting at Forest colony Zunheboto by CF(NTC), DC Zunheboto and SP Zunheboto, followed by plantation drive at St. Anthony’s School by the students along with range officer Zunheboto Bokato Sema.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by DFO Zunheboto Division, Dr. Prabhat Kumar.
The programme was also attended by ADC Zunheboto, Moakumzuk Tzudir, ACF Zunheboto Ilamwangbe Zeme, students and teachers of St. Anthony’s School Zunheboto, DMU staff and staff of divisional forest office Zunheboto.
