Students trained on ‘PCR and its uses’

Zoology Students of Patkai Christian College (PCC- Autonomous) pursuing final year were trained on “PCR and its uses in disease investigation” by scientists at the training programme held from March 9 to 11. The training was organized by National Research Centre on Mithun (NRCM-ICAR), Nagaland.
In a press release PCC media cell stated that the training programme was coordinated by scientist, NRCM Dr. Lalzampuia, with the assistance of scientists, Dr. J. Chamuah, Dr. Stephen, Dr. Sunitibala and Dr. Vikram. Students were explained on various molecular techniques like PBMCs isolation, RNA purification, proteomics, primer designing, RT-PCR for studying gene expression and molecular detection of important parasites.
The training programme was held under the supervision of HoD Zoology Dr. Sanjeeb K. Dey Baidya and Dr. R Achila. Altogether 25 students attended the training.
