Tokizhe sub-centre inaugurated

Deputy chief medical officer (CMO) Zunheboto, Dr. K. Akaho Sema on June 17 inaugurated sub-centre Tokizhe under Suruhuto block.
In a press release, district media officer, Keneikhrietuo informed that while speaking on the occasion, the guest of honour, Dr. Akaho spoke on the importance of government facilities and advised the village leaders and public to utilise such facilities.
He said every sub centre or primary health centre should be at a prime location which was convenient and easily accessible to all. Stressing on the importance of community contribution, the deputy CMO stated that the department had now established the sub-centre but to progress ahead for better facilities in the future, he said that it all depended on community contribution and performance of the health unit.
He appealed to the community for coordination and participation on every health programme and activities carried out by the department.
Dr. Akaho also briefed on the department policy on health expansion and public health to the community.
The programme was chaired by DPM (NHM) Zunheboto, Rosemary Vitoli, who addressed the people of Tokizhe and briefed on the importance of Village Health Committee (VHC) and selection of committee members, and roles of ANM, ASHA and AWW.
Earlier, invocation was offered by Shikato Akheu, welcome address was by Tokiye Akukau while traditional folk song was presented by Khukiye Qomi. Later, vote of thanks was proposed by Zhekiye Akukau and benediction by Mughatoli Akheu Totimi.
The programme was attended by civil society organisations (CSOs), DPO DAPCU Hokishe Chophy, DSM Hekato Chishi, medical officers, CMO staff and people of Tokizhe village.
