Training for officials of Water Resources deptt held in Kohima

A two-day capacity-building training on service and accounts matters for officers and staff of the Water Resources Department (WRD) was held in the conference hall of the WRD chief engineer office, Kohima on Thursday.
According to a DIPR report, resource persons for the training included department of Economics & Statistics, under-secretary, Andreas Ezung and retired senior accounts officer, Treasuries & Accounts department Khinyi Woch.
Andreas Ezung has been influential in conducting training in ATI as faculty member on service matters to government servants, NCS probationers and staff of district offices while Khinyi Woch has vast experience and knowledge with regard to accounts.
Addressing the officers and staff, WRD, superintending engineer, Er. K. Hutoi Sema said the training was being conducted to enhance the knowledge and skills of employees and to provide information and instructions on how to better perform their tasks.
Highlighting the importance of service and account matters for functioning of the office, he appealed to the staff and officers of the department to clarify their doubts.
Executive engineer, Er. Wapangnaro Imchen, who chaired the programme informed that the department has been conducting the training for the past three years which has been successful in imparting knowledge to many officers and staff.
DIPR report informed that the training will be conducted on matters such as Government Servant Conduct Rule 1968, filing system, noting and drafting, Disciplinary and Appeal Rules 1967, maintenance of service book, personal file, APAR, pay and allowances, seniority, and promotion, budgeting management, auditing of government accounts, etc.
