Training on ‘eri silk development projects’

A four-day resource development programme on “eri silk development projects” under Silk Samagra-2 organised by state Sericulture department and capacity building & training division of Central Silk Board (CSB) Bangalore at Sericulture department Conference Hall, Kohima concluded on July 22.
According to a DIPR report, resource persons from CSB, Assam Agricultural University, NABARD, Nagaland University and Ava Creations Social Impact Foundation, Guwahati imparted training on topics including, soft skills, financial management, entrepreneurship models, eri silk production value chain, marketing and development of location-specific action plan.
The inaugural session was chaired by director of sericulture, T. Sanny Pongener with scientist, CSB Bangalore, Dr. Siddique Ali Ahmed as the programme coordinator and attended by commissioner and secretary, department of sericulture, Henkhahao Singson.
During the valedictory function, additional director, Mhathung Kikon handed certificates to participants while deputy director and local coordinator, Vikehelie Pienyu delivered the vote of thanks.
The training was attended by sericulture officers along with staff from Zunheboto, Mon, Tuensang and Longleng districts, and members of NGOs from Mokokchung district.
