TrueNat machine installed at CHC Aghunato

A TrueNat machine was installed on Saturday, at Community Health Centre (CHC) Aghunato under the initiative of National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme (NTEP), office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Zunheboto.
In a press release, district media officer, Keneikhrietuo informed that district tuberculosis officer (DTO) Zunheboto, Dr. Y. Aron Muru in his address, said the machine was recently purchased by NTEP, given the fact that only one machine was allotted to the district.
Dr. Aron said Community Health Centre Aghunato was given priority and preference according to the location.
He urged upon the district administration of the sub-division, community leaders and church leaders to disseminate about the new machine to the public of Aghunato sub-division and avail the facility free of cost.
DTO informed that the machine diagnosis was rapid and accurate which can run up to 32-48 samples of multiple diseases including COVID-19, tuberculosis, HIV and hepatitis and that it gave results in a span of two hours.
He presented a brief overview on tuberculosis causes, symptoms and treatment and elaborated the scheme “Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan”, which was a nutrition support for TB patients.
In her speech, EAC Aghunato Mhashumi Ezung acknowledged the District Health Society (DHS) Zunheboto for bringing the machine which the EAC said, was necessity in the sub division.
Being the largest sub-division in the district, he expressed hope that the machine would be beneficial not only for Aghunato town but also for the surrounding villages within the sub-division.
The programme was chaired by CHC Aghunato MO, Dr. Kipito Awomi, HCMC chairman Vikishe Awomi delivered a short speech, invocation was offered by ATBC (SBAK Nito Mount) pastor Atovi Chophy while benediction was offered by Aghunato (SBAK Aizuto-B) pastor Vitoho Sumi.
