Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur asks govt to release scholarship

Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has asked the state government and concerned department to release the pending scholarship of students within a “reasonable timeframe”.
In a press release, TSUD education and statistical secretary, Asap Zeliang said the union was constrained to speak out in the general interest of the student community for the “lackadaisical attitude” of the state government and department concerned in turning a blind eye towards students’ grievances.
Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur said the apathy of the state government and higher and technical education department was “clearly manifested in its undue delay in the release of scholarship thereby depriving the students of what is rightfully theirs”. It said the delaying tactics has become the norms of the day and further compromised the future of the state.
Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur has implored upon the concerned authority to take up the issue on priority basis and address the same within a “reasonable timeframe”.
