Youths urged to venture in agriculture sector

Advisor Law & Justice, Dr. Chumben Murry called upon the educated youths to venture into agriculture sectors in order to bring a new dynamism and perspectives in agriculture.
He also said that since the new generation of youths were more engaged with modern information and communication technology and that their involvement will bring mass production in agriculture sector.
According to DIPR report, Dr. Chumben said this while addressing monthly meeting of Wokha District Planning and Development Board meeting on September 16 at DCs conference hall, Wokha.
Dr.Chumben also said that since Wokha district has been labelled as the “Land of plenty”, the agri and allied department should carry out evaluation to identify how much the district was producing and how much more can be produced.
“Since we did not know how much to more is required to produce, we depend on imported items for our livelihood”, he added.
Dr. Chumben also congratulated to all the medal winners of the recently conducted 22nd Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022 for making the district proud and hoped that they will continue to do their best to bring more laurels for the district.
Advisor MhathungYanthan, who also attended the meeting, opined that agri and allied department should have co-ordinated approach as all line departments have similar activities. He said that the line department needed to have a very strong co-ordinated approach to ensure that duplication or overlapping should not take place and that all agri and allied departmental projects benefit the people of the district.
The meeting was conducted by vice chairman DPDB Wokha and DC, Ajit Kumar Ranjan.
