ZRSU observes ‘SumiPatriots’ Day’ in Zunheboto

Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) in collaboration with Sumi Hoho organised “Sumi Patriots’ Day” at Patriots’ Monolith point, Zunheboto town on Thursday, to commemorate the death anniversary of late “general” Kaito Sukhai and the slain Sumis who sacrificed their lives for the general cause of Nagas.
In a press release, ZRSU president Gihuka K Zhimo and general secretary Ito S Chophy informed that during the programme, short speeches were delivered Sumi Hoho president I Nikheto Jimomi and Sumi Kukami Hoho president Kashito Yepthomi on the significance of “Sumi Patriots’ Day” and brief history of ‘lt general Kaito Sukhai.’
Highlights of the programme included a special song by Immanuel Higher Secondary School and tributes, laying of wreaths by various civil societies, organisations, leaders, individuals, institutions and students.
The programme was chaired by Gihuka K Zhimo, invocation by NCRC Sumi Zunheboto town pastor, Rev. Kihoshe Assumi, followed by a prayer from Dr. Hutton sumi pastor SBCZ for slain Sumis and the upcoming Sumi and Naga generations.
The programme was attended by more than one thousand congregation from various civil societies, NGOs and students from various schools under Zunheboto Town.
