“India will be more international, but we want to come to the table with more cards in our hand,” said foreign minister S. Jaishankar on Monday.

Addressing a technology summit by think tank Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP) he said the best contribution India can make to the world would be to “participate much more in global chains…. to do that India has to shape up. It’s not going to happen because we are India...we will have to make changes, reforms, incentives, offer attractive conditions.”

The new world of geopolitics is intimately connected with the growth and development of technology, which in turn is a space where “trust” has become a key factor in international discourse, Jaishankar said, adding both politics and technology are essential features in the globalised world.
