IRCSN annual meeting; passes four-point resolution

Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) branch discussed and deliberated on the activities and challenges faced by Red Cross volunteers in the state during its 33rd annual general body meeting held on November 10 at Red Cross Complex, Kohima. 

A press release by IRCN general secretary, Dr. Neiphi Kire stated that, during its meeting, the IRCN passed a four-point resolution, where it urged upon the DCs and presidents of IRCS district branches to give more time and interest to the activities of Red Cross. Secondly, the honorary secretaries of IRCS district branches have been asked to give more time and dedication to Red Cross cause. Thirdly it resolved to enrol more Red Cross members in all the districts. Fourthly, the house reiterated the decision of the 32nd AGM decision that a common programme would be selected on a particular day for all the district/sub-divisional branches to show the presence of Red Cross to the public every year, that is on November 27. Meeting also asserted that special Red Cross campaign would be organised in all district headquarters simultaneously on November 27, 10 a.m against COVID-19. 

The meeting also deliberated on how the society has joined hand to fight against COVID-19 pandemic. IRCSN said that it had received essential items to combat the pandemic from national headquarter, New Delhi, which have been handed over to the districts for distribution. House also acknowledged the Nestle Company for handing over soaps which has been handed over to all district branches.  It must be noted that, the chief minister and vice president of IRCSN Neiphiu Rio extended help towards the urgent need of the Red Cross to purchase a hearse. The meeting was presided over by IRCSN chairperson, Abeni TCK.
