IWC Dimapur conducts sports meet

Inner Wheel Club (IWC) Dimapur has organised sports meet on March 20 and 21 at Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School playground, which was the first of its kind in the Cosmo city of Dimapur. 

A press release issued by IWC president, Sanjukta Bhattacharjee stated that the tournament included Carrom Championship and Cricket match, where both the sports were conducted with zeal and sportsmanship. 

The opening ceremony was held on March 20 with OC Women’s Police Station, Rose Yanthan as the chief guest, who appreciated the effort of Inner Wheelers for this initiative. She in her speech highlighted that, sports are very important for recreation and health and said that “healthy mind resides in a healthy body”. 

Guest of honour Sh H P Gupta in his speech said that, in a match there should never be hard feeling about winning or losing. IWC, president Sanjukta Bhattacharjee in her welcome speech mentioned about the social and charitable works of Inner Wheel Club of Dimapur. She also encouraged the lady players for their sportsmanship and confidence.

Project chairman Pinky Agarwal in her speech presented the rules and regulations and also all necessary details of the events including the motto behind the conduct of event.

The winner team and the runners-up were awarded with the trophies. Many more awards were given to the deserving players. 

The closing ceremony was held on March 21 which ended with the vote of thanks by club secretary and coordinator, Nidhi Modi.
