Judgment delivered by district & session judge Phek

District and session judge, Phek, special judge Mezivolu T Therieh delivered a judgment on June 18, wherein Weshe Ritse was convicted and sentenced to 14 years rigorous imprisonment. 

A press release from district and session judge office Phek stated that, a fine of Rs. 2 lakh was also imposed on the convict. He was charged U/S 20 (b) (ii) (c) of under the NDPS Act. The case dates back to October 28, 2018 when the police personnel Pfutsero Police Station under the command of SDPO Aotula while on motor vehicle check post duty at PWD Road Junction intercepted a Tata mobile loaded with 435 kg of ganja. The driver was arrested and three accused persons namely, Weshe Ritse, Dilhou Krome and Solomon Ladu were put to trial, however due to insufficient evidence the other two persons were acquitted.
