KGOU holds 30th annual general session

Konyak Gazetted Officers’ Union (KGOU) held its 30th annual general session on April 7 at Mon town with commissioner and secretary, department of fisheries and aquatic resources, W. Honje Konyak as special guest. 

A press release by KGOU general secretary, W Moba Konyak stated while speaking at the session, W. Honje Konyak emphasised on the use of Konyak dialect at programmes of Konyak organisations in order to preserve and promote the richness and the originality of their language.

He apprised the members that being one among the very few officers in the Konyak community also implied a position of regard as well as a huge responsibility to uplift many who were underprivileged.

Konyak union president Howing Konyak asserted that the services of Konyak officers were required not just within Mon district but in different parts of the state.   

Meanwhile, KGOU president Wango Langsym felicitated W. Honje Konyak on being the first commissioner and secretary among Konyak administrative officers. 

KGOU felicitated Anden Konyak for being inducted into the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Dr. Yingngam Wangnaolim for her outstanding achievement in medical post graduation from Kerala university of health sciences in 2020. The union also congratulated and welcomed the new members of the union and wished them a bright and illustrious career ahead. 

Earlier, KBBB executive secretary, Rev. M Chemyuh Konyak dedicated and blessed the new office bearers led by Er. Chinglang Konyak as president for the tenure, 2021-2023.
