Kitsubozou Panchayat celebrated golden jubilee at Panchayat hall on Saturday at Kohima.

Speaking as the guest of honour, administrator Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Kovi Meyase remarked that on a joyous occasion such as a golden jubilee, one must look forward to the future and the legacy that can be left behind for the ward and community.

Lauding Kitsubozou Panchayat for contributing towards a cleaner, safer and smarter Kohima, Meyase said Kohima, under the smart city’s mission was slowly inching towards becoming a smarter city. He added that with more accomplished hands coming in, one can attain more than a semblance of what was aspired for.

He pointed out that however, merely building or constructing infrastructures does not make a city smart but that it was the citizens who make the city smart. Highlighting that smartness was not equated to brands and bright lights alone but more with the character, attitude and behavior of the citizens, Meyase urged to strive further on towards living up to the pinnacle of smartness.

Meyase also urged the Panchayat to take up the onus of nurturing responsible citizens in respective communities. The administrator also released the jubilee souvenir and memento.

Special number was presented by Vetholu Rhakho and KWO office bearer. Convener finance committee, Vimhalie Pienyü presented the finance report, while introductory address was delivered by organising committee, Zasevoto Rote and GB Kitsubozou, Vituozo Kire.

Invocation was pronounced by sr. pastor Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima, Rev. Dr. Kewekhalo Lasuh. Earlier, monolith erection programme was also held.
