Kohima police arrest four for ‘extortion’

Kohima Police on two separate operations arrested four persons involved in “extorting money” and has registered criminal case against the alleged accused persons.

In a press release, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kohima informed that on June 16, Kohima North police station personnel on receipt of information that some unknown miscreants are “extorting money” from a construction site near NBCC, New Secretariat area conducted an operation and arrested two miscreants.
Police identified the two arrested as Ase-o Kense (27) son of Pfusiesa Kense of Tuophema village, presently residing at Phezouchz colony, Kohima and Mongchao Khiam (29) son of Yanso of Nokhu village, presently residing at Thizama Village, Kohima.
In another operation, Kohima police on June 12 conducted a raid at Lower PWD Colony based on information about “extortion” of Manipur bound trucks by unknown miscreants along NH-29.
Police said one person identified as Viketouzo alias Baby (37) son of Lt. Ruokuovolie, presently residing at Lower PWD Colony, Kohima. 
During the raid, police said 16 mobile phones, 10 “GPRN work permit”, one pistol, Rs. 12,120 cash and vehicle (NL01C-4135) was seized. 
Police further informed that another accomplice of the accused identified as Renpemo Tsopoe (24) son of Y. Ntsono Tsopoe, presently residing at Midland colony, Kohima was arrested on June 17.
Meanwhile, police has informed that criminal case has been registered against all the accused persons and that further investigation was on.
