KSUK celebrates 25th anniversary

Khiamniungan Students’ Union Kohima (KSUK) celebrated its 25th anniversary on Ocotber 15 in the state academy hall, Kohima with advisor, urban development & municipal affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire as special guest and advisor, fisheries & aquatic resources, evaluation, economics & statistics, L. Khumo as guest of honour.

In a press release, convenor, media and publicity KSUK informed that during the programme, the special guest in his address acknowledged the pioneers and the gathering on its 25th anniversary.

He encouraged them to have 3Ds in life, determination, dedication and devotion and never to give up. 

Dr. Neikiesalie also stressed on posessing the 3Ts and to continue striving. He encouraged them to take up sports and athletic activities. 

He advised them to keep away from the mindset of the word “backward” as such mentality would never take anyone further but only hinder. 

The first KSUK president also recollected how the need for a union was felt back in the year 1996 with very few members.

He shared how he was now in a moment of happiness in keeping the union going with strong determination. 

During the general session, new office bearers were inducted with Bem Lushing as president.

Earlier, additional deputy commisioner, Kohima M.S Thangpong delivered a speech while pecial prayer was said by M.Chuba Lam associate pastor, youth KBCK.
