Letter to Chief Minister of Nagaland, seeking clarification

By Nagaland Post | Publish Date: 9/17/2020 1:03:01 PM IST

 Honb’le Chief Minister Sir,

The undersigned have the honour to seek your kind attention regarding the appointment made by the Honb’le Advisor DUDA, Government of Nagaland in his official writing pad for the following person as enclosed herein as members of Adhoc Town Council/ Urban Local Bodies.

It  is to be mentioned that as the result of the ULB Election was kept in abeyance; it was in consultation with the Administration and public of all wards had democratically selected their Ward Chairmen or ward representatives excluding those undeclared ULB candidates to assist the administration for the smooth functioning of the town led by Vice Chairman and secretary. However it is unfortunate that the Honb’le Advisor DUDA has personally selected/appointed new members without seeking public majority on his self interest which is totally illegal and is against the democratic norms of the country.

In this regard we would like to seek the following clarification from you side.

• Whether, the Government of Nagaland has entrusted our Honb’le Advisor DUDA Shri. N.Bongkhao to select/ make appointment directly/ personally without consulting the general public or the person concern /ward/town as well as the general administration? If so, we would like to know the official notification of the state government regarding the authorization order entrusted for appointment of members to the urban local Bodies. Those candidates who contested are waiting for declaration of result the Town Council of Tobu would like to know from state Government the relaxation of null and void order. If not what action will be taken to Hon’ble Advisor DUDA for violation of government policy.

Instead of confusing and fooling the general public we would like to approach before our Honourable Chief Minister of Nagaland to personally declare/ notify order for counting of election result which was kept in abeyance especially for Tobu Town Council.

L.Kaiba Konyak, Former Vice Chairman, Adhoc Town Council Tobu Town and A.Yenso Konyak, Former Member ATC Tobu Town
