LRD distributes coffee machineries to farmers

 Inauguration of coffee bar & distribution of coffee pulper machines at DPO, office Land Resources Department (LRD) Longleng was held on May 7 with DC Longleng, M. Shayung Phom as special guest.

According to DIPR report, while speaking at the programme, DC congratulated the department for coming up with a new coffee bar in the district and urged all to strictly follow the SOPs.

He said that the district administration, police and medical department were compelled to work for the smooth function of the district, but many villages showed no cooperation with the government during the vaccination drive and only a few got vaccinated.

In this regard, he encouraged the farmers to spread awareness within villages and community to avail vaccination at the earliest.

While encouraging the farmers, the DC maintained that ignorance of the machines would result in negative impact on production and urged them to come forward if they had any doubts and to learn from the department officials.

District Project Officer, LRD Longleng Kughalu Chichi in his keynote address stated that Nagaland is advanced in growing coffee within northeast states and urged the farmers to grow more and to educate the fellow farmers about the plantation and benefits of coffee plantation.

In his short speech, PBCA executive secretary Tialemba said that due to the pandemic, the scenario had changed. He said that people should not only be consumers but producers as well.

Highlights of the programme included inauguration of coffee bar by special guest and demonstration of coffee pulper machines by DPO.

It may mentioned that the land resources department Longleng distributed 25 coffee pulper machines to the beneficiary farmers.
