M’laya class 10 result declared

The Meghalaya Board of School Education on Monday declared the most-awaited Class 10 results (Secondary School Leaving Certificate), in which a total of 50.31 per cent students passed the examination.
The overall pass percentage this year was the lowest in five years compared to the previous years, which recorded the overall pass percentage was 55.72 per cent in 2019, 56.76 per cent in 2018 and 54 per cent in 2017.
Chetna Bose of Sherwood School in Tura topped the list with 568 marks out of 600. Sainava Modak of St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured second position with 565 marks and the third position was grabbed by Ainamdaphisha P Byrsat of Little Flower School, Shillong securing 561 marks.
Of 50,081 students who had appeared for the SSLC examinations, 25,195 students, including 16,035 regular students and 4,910 private candidates successfully cleared the Board exams
West Jaintia Hills topped among districts with pass percentage of 69.96 per cent. The worst performing district is South Garo Hills with pass percentage of 26.57.
East Khasi Hills district which is considered the major hub of educational centre recorded 68.94 pass percentage.
