Manipur education minister Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh on Saturday launched the MOODLE Learning Management System for the government and government aided colleges of Manipur.

After launching the online education system of the latest version, the minister hoped that the new initiative will help the college students of the state immensely during this pandemic.

He said that the MOODLE Learning Management System is simpler than other versions of online learning systems.

“Education is a sector which we all need to promote and boost up with priority,”  he added, while asserting that education at school level was seen being more focused in comparison with the higher education in the state.

The education department has geared up to secure NAAC scores by the colleges of the state, he added.

Officials of the state education department, including commissioner and director, were relentlessly working to promote education in the state, higher education in particular, he said.

Maintaining that teaching is one of the noblest professions, Singh said that those who are in the teaching profession should serve with dedication.

“Teachers play the role of shaping the society by imparting knowledge and skills to the students,” he said, stressing that knowing their priceless and dedicated services with responsibility, they are being honoured every year on September 5.

“If the education system fails, the whole generation will be lost,” he added.

The minister appealed to all to cooperate with the government initiatives to promote education in the state.

Obstructions and agitations by students’ and teachers’ organizations have been hampering teaching and learning processes of the schools and colleges. Such unwanted activities should be stopped, he added.

To solve the problems arising out of shortage of staff in government colleges, the minister said, the state government will be conducting recruitment drives very soon to fill up the vacancies in the state.

Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Dr Sanatombi and VC of Dhanamanjuri University prof Rajmohon and top officials of the state education department were among others who attended the launching function.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
