Manipur’s COVID-19 death toll crosses 900-mark with 12 deaths in 24 hour

Manipur’s death toll due to Covid-19 reached 908, with 12 more deaths being reported on Tuesday.  The day also saw 748 new cases recorded, taking the overall count to 56,576.  The state health department, in its latest bulletin, also saw the discharge of 579 taking the cumulative number of recoveries to 46,527.  As the new cases are more than the recovered cases, it led to the rise of the number of active cases to 9,141. The active case was down below 9,000-mark on Monday. The recovery rate was 82.23%.  Imphal West, the worst affected capital district accounted for 205 of the 748 fresh cases and four of the 12 deaths. At 20,215, the district has reported the highest number of cases in Manipur with 337deaths.  The second worst affected Imphal East district reported 162 and four deaths, taking its infection and death toll to 13,098 and 249 respectively.
