Meetings and workshops on COVID-19 vaccination held

Meetings and workshops on COVID-19 vaccination for front line workers was held in Wokha and Longleng, in order to sensitise the staff and to cover various aspects of the vaccination. 

Longleng: Awareness and sensitisation workshop on COVID-19 vaccination for frontline workers of Longleng district for Police, District Administration and 12th NAP (IR) HQ Chingtok was conducted on February 4 and 5 at respective offices.

A press release by district media officer stated that during the workshop, resource person, DPO (RCH/UIP), Dr. Imnameren Phom gave a brief introduction on COVID-19 and spoke on the vaccine approved in India.

The DPO gave a detailed explanation on Covishield vaccine and how the doses were administered. He also appealed to all the participants to get vaccinated in order to stay safe and to protect oneself, family and neighbours, citing that frontline workers were in the high risk exposure. He shed light on the importance of achieving herd immunity and requested all the frontline workers to get registered in the Cowin portal if they have not been registered.

Further, DPO gave a detailed report on the number of healthcare workers in Nagaland who have been vaccinated for the first dose so far, and number of healthcare workers vaccinated in Longleng. 

The session site for vaccinating frontline workers in Longleng district was selected and verified in the presence of Medical Department led by CMO, Police led by SP and  District Administration led by DC.

Meanwhile, the workshop was followed by interaction and discussion with the resource person and the participants.

The team was led by Dr. Obangjungla CMO, Dr. Temsusashi DTO (NTEP), Dr Lirenthung Khuvung MO (RBSK), VCCM (UNDP), DCM and media officer and resource person. The workshop was attended by staff from respective departments led by Deputy Commissioner, ADC, SDO, EACs, additional SP, SDPO, deputy commandant 12th NAP (IR) Chingtok and Dr. Vincent Merry (RMO). 

Wokha: To discuss relating for vaccination of COVD for the Front Line Workers (FLWs) and mission Indra Dhanush IMI 3.0, a meeting was conveyed with members of District Task Force (DTF) for immunisation at Deputy Commissioner Official chamber on February 5.

District immunization officer, Wokha, Dr. Khelito Zhimomi informed during the meeting that so far, 1994 frontline workers under Wokha district had registered their names to get the vaccine.

Zhimomi also informed that vaccination for frontline workers would be completed by the end of the month and for the success of vaccination, all health care centres and health care units under Wokha district have been activated to administrate the vaccine.

The vaccination for FLWs will kick start from February 8, 9 a.m. onwards wherein, personnel such as Police (DEF & 7th NAP), home guards and revenue staff will be vaccinated and on February 9, vaccination will be administered at 7th NAP Hospital Bhandari and NEEPCO hospital Doyang.

She requested line departments who have not submitted the list/name of employees to submit the same by February 7 and appealed to upload names of only those willing to take the vaccine.

Dr. Khelito Zhimomi also highlighted about mission Indra Dhanush IMI 3.0 which will commence from February 22. The purpose of the mission is to increase full immunisation coverage who have missed any kind of immunisation (lodor group -left outs/drop outs & resistance) the targeted group for this mission are pregnant women and children from 0-2 years.

DC & chairman District Task Force for COVID-19, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha also urged all concerned to extend support for the successful implementation of the vaccination.
