Melissa McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone wrapped up the 20 Days Of Kindness campaign, where $20,000 was donated to 20 different charities in as many days.

The campaign, which was made in tandem with their new film Superintelligence, and designed to spotlight acts of kindness amid this difficult year, helped raise more than $1.5 million for charities, according to People.

McCarthy documented the effort by showcasing each of the charities that received money on social media during the 20 consecutive days of giving.

'I can honestly say these have been some of the most inspiring, eye-opening days of my life,' the comedian and actress, 50, shared in the last give-away of the campaign that went to Planned Parenthood.

'There have been quite a few rough moments in 2020 but being able to learn and talk about all these incredible organizations have really warmed my heart.'

She went on to give some vital details on the services Planned Parenthood provides to millions of women, men and young people worldwide, as well as her own first-hand account of how the non-profit provided help to her when she was in her early 20s without medical insurance.

Along with Planned Parenthood, the other charities benefiting from the 20 Days Of Kindness Campaign include: Joyful Heart Foundation, The International Rescue Committee, Teach For America, Habitat For Humanity, The American Foundation For Suicide Prevention, Feeding America, the Movember movement, National Coalition For The Homeless, Together We Rise, Common Sense Media, Human Rights Campaign, The Trevor Project, Make A Wish, World Central Kitchen, Conservation International, Step Up, Best Friends Animal Society, Team Rubicon and Girls Who Code.

While the couple helped raised $1.5 million for the charities during the campaign, donations are still being accepted on the 20 Days Of Kindness website.

'Remember you can give whatever you can,' McCarthy added in her final post.

'50 cents or a dollar because people are worth saving and a little bit of love goes a long way.'

Superintelligence, a romantic action comedy film directed by Falcone, premiered on HBO Max on November 26.

McCarthy plays Carol Peters, a former corporate executive who has her earnest yet unfulfilled life turned upside down when she is selected for observation by the world's first superintelligence – an artificial intelligence that may or may not take over the world.

The film is the couple's fourth collaboration together.
