Mnp all set for final dry run for COVID-19 vaccination on Jan 8

The deck is cleared for conducting dry run for COVID-19 vaccination in the remaining parts of the state on January 8, Manipur health department said, in a statement, on Wednesday.

The mock drill which nationwide began on December 28 was conducted at 10 places spread over two districts of Imphal West and Thoubal districts on January 2 last.
State health department is expecting launch of  the vaccination programme in the state within the current month, January, as soon as Centre provided the vaccine(s) in the state 
The state was targeting to vaccinate a total of 46,000 people with maximum number from healthcare and frontline workers in the first phase of the programme.
The state health department, in a statement on Wednesday, said that the dry run was being held to assess the operational feasibility in the use of COVID vaccine intelligence network (Co-WIN) application in the field environment.
The programme of January 8 will begin from 10 am and last till noon, the statement added.
The dry run exercise was being carried out to monitor the vaccine delivery, testing receipt and allocation, deployment of team members, mock drill of session sites with test beneficiaries and finally, the necessary data entry in Co-WIN app, the statement added in the statement. 
On the other hand, with 66 fresh positive cases detected over the last 24 hours (till 4pm of January 6), the overall infection tally of the state stood at 28,484 on Wednesday.
As per the daily update report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room, the fresh positive cases included one personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). No COVID-19 related death was reported in the past 24 hours. As such the deaths tally remained at 363 on Wednesday.
