Modern college organises FDP

Modern College Kohima (MCK) organized a faculty development programme (FDP) on the “importance of mentoring” on September 10 with resource persons, dean of academics, St. Joseph University, Dimapur, Dr. Ranjan Kumar Behera, and SDB, youth ministry delegate, province of Dimapur, Fr. (Dr.) Peter Salew.

A press release by MCK principal, Dr. H.P Singh stated that Dr. Ranjan Kumar Behara spoke largely on general basics of mentoring from the secular perspective.
He also emphasised on how mentors can guide and help navigate their mentees to achieve their professional journey. Fr. (Dr.) Peter Salew, SDB shared on mentoring process in Don Bosco’s way and stressed on the need to develop trust, confidence, dignity and respect of every student.
He further shared on four dimensions of mentoring such as educational and cultural, spiritual primacy, social experience and vocational dimension.
The objective of the programme was to bridge the gap between mentors and mentees. 
The programme was moderated by John Besii while Keleseno Longkumer was recorder of the proceedings. Altogether 38 members participated.
