Nagaland COVID-19 tally touches 3340

 DIMAPUR, AUG 15 (NPN): Nagaland on Saturday recorded 18 fresh cases, one of the lowest since July, taking the tally to 3,340-- 2005 active, 1321 recovered, 8 deaths and 6 migrated. According to Health minister, S. Pangnyu Phom 16 fresh cases were reported from Kohima and 1 each in Wokha and Tuensang.

As per the severity of symptoms, 2,001 active cases are asymptomatic, 1 mild and 3 moderate cases.
Further, out of the 3,340 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people include 1,468 personnel of the Armed Forces, 1,161 returnees, 212 frontline workers, 445 traced contacts and 54 others. According to Health department, the current doubling time of COVID cases was 14 days. It has reduced from 18 days in the previous week.
On July 31, the State had 1693 cases which doubled to 3322 cases by August 14, it said. The first COVID-19 case was reported on May 25, 2020 in the State.

NEW DELHI, AUG 15: A spike of 65,002 cases took India’s COVID-19 tally past 25 lakh on Saturday, just a day after it crossed the 24 lakh mark, while the number of fatalities neared 50,000 with 996 deaths, Union Health Ministry data showed.
According to figures from the ministry, 18.08 lakh people have so far recuperated from the disease, pushing the recovery rate to 71.61 per cent. 
India has been reporting over 60,000 cases daily since August 7, barring August 11 when the country registered 53,601 new instances of the infection.
COVID caseload stood at 25,26,192, while the death-toll climbed to 49,036, data updated on Saturday at 8 am showed. Case fatality rate has declined to 1.94%.
