Nagaland House celebrates  Golden Jubilee in Shillong

Nagaland House, Shillong, celebrated its golden jubilee under  the theme ‘Home Away From Home,’ on October 26, with Meghalaya home minister James Sangma as the special guest. Zhaleo Rio, Advisor, Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, Government of Nagaland also graced the occasion as the Jubilee Patron.

Nagaland House, Shillong located at Nongrim Hills, is a state-run government guest house established in the year 1969 with the objective of providing accommodation to visiting VVIPs/VIPs/ govt officials and the people of Nagaland in general.

Headed by the Assistant Resident Commissioner (ARC) who also serves as a Nodal Officer for the NEC, Nagaland House also serves as a Liaison Centre for the State in all the official matters with the Government of Meghalaya and Central offices located in Shillong.

According to updates from the organising committee, the first officer in charge of the establishment was C.Y. Kithan who served as OSD. “The present office has come a long way from OSD to Liaison Officer to ARC,” the press release stated.

Members of the Naga community, well-wishers and the student community took part I the celebration that witnessed a number of presentations including a traditional feast.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
