Nagaland registers 53 fresh Covid-19 cases

With 53 fresh Covid-19 cases being reported on Thursday from across the state-- 41 in Dimapur, 10 in Kohima and 1 each in Peren and Phek, the total caseload stood at 12800. 

With this the active cases also rose to 384.  Following the recovery of two more patients from the dreaded disease, the number of those who have recuperated till April 22 was 12116.

Meanwhile, a total of 383 passengers had arrived Dimapur by air on Thursday, out of which samples of 139 were taken for testing, and results awaited including those that arrived on April 20 and 21.

Revised rates for testing
State government has revised the rates for COVID-19 tests in the government facilities/hospitals. RT-PCR and TrueNat tests will now cost Rs.800 from the existing Rs.1500 while the rapid antigen test will cost Rs. 250 from Rs.500. Further BPL card holders, elders above 60 years & children below 10 years and those who were contact traced would be exempted from the charges.
For private labs/hospitals, the government stated in view of the decreased costs of kits and consumables, and keeping in mind the prevailing rates in other states, consultation may be held with them and the revised rates notified by H&FW.
