Nagaland thrash Arunachal by 7 wkt

Nagaland thrashed Arunachal Pradesh by seven wickets in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2020-21 in Chennai on Monday. 

Led by centuries from Jonathan Rongsen and SS Mundhe, Nagaland chased down 286 runs target set by Arunachal Pradesh in 42.1 overs. Jonathan scored 113 runs while Mundhe scored 102 runs.  Stuart Binny remained not out on 55 runs. 

For Arunachal, Nazeeb Saiyed, Kumar Nyompu and Obi took one wicket each.

Earlier, Arunachal Pradesh decided to bat first after winning the toss, managed to score a competitive total of 285/7 in 50 overs. Rahul Dalal scored 138 runs and Vipin scored 56 runs. 

For Nagaland, Mundhe also took four wickets while Hopongkyu Sangtam and Khrievitso Kense scalped one wicket each. 

Meanwhile, Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has announced the team list of the senior women’s cricket team for Women’s Senior Trophy 2020-21

According to NCA (hon) secretary, Hyunilo Anilo Khing, Nagaland Women’s team placed in Elite D group, will play their first match in the against Punjab on March 13 at Indore. The team will then take on Madhya Pradesh on March 15, followed by match against Mumbai on March 17, Baroda on March 19 and the last match against Kerala on March 21.
