Nagas’ tradition and customs versus Socialism

By Nagaland Post | Publish Date: 9/19/2020 1:41:05 PM IST

(The Naga Peace Accord and the Preamble to be pondered seriously by the Nagas before preliminary inking.)

Apart from few community village reserve forest, more than 95 percent of Nagas’ land is private owned. In short, Nagas have been practising capitalist economy which are hereditary and strictly fasten to the tradition and customary laws till date.

The Yezabo of undivided NSCN has clearly mentioned about the political set up, which shall be of one party system (dictatorship) and economy of socialist pattern i.e Nationalisation of private land and resources. And if the socialist pattern is to be implemented in toto, the economic tradition and customary laws of the Nagas which is in practise shall be uprooted. Will the Nagas give up our economic tradition and customary laws to the socialist pattern ? And even if so, will it be okay if a dictator dictates the entire economy of the Nagas ?

The IDEALS of Sovereign Nagaland and the CAUSE of the Freedom Struggle, was and is to PROTECT our LAND, IDENTITY and FREEDOM. And our IDENTITY is our TRADITION and CUSTOMS which had been in practise since time immemorial. If our land, identity and freedom is to be uprooted by socialist pattern of post independent/solution, than what is the use of our freedom struggle for so long? Instead of freedom, Nagas will be under the socialist dictator without freedom. Chaos and civil war shall follow up in line with solution.

If the assets of some socialist leaders of the world are to be accounted, it’s worst and dangerous than capitalist leaders. And also, under the patronage of totalitarian (socialist communism) most of the elite leaderships concentrated absolute power and heftily individualize the national assets and economy , only few personalities like Vladimir Lenin  have successfully implemented socialist in letter and spirit.

The philosophers who invented socialist communism is to protect and liberate the proletariats’ rights in every sphere from capitalist, but today in contrary, the working class(citizens) are deprived of their rights in the socialist nations and set-ups , and any citizen/s  voicing justice are either silenced through imprisonment of execution.

And therefore, to live a fair society, preserve the Nagas’ tradition and customs and to visualise the citizens’ freedom post sovereignty/solution, socialist pattern of governance in the Naga Peace Accord and Preamble should be omitted before tabling in the Indian Parliament. And the content must be made known to the stake holders.

The solution should be based on, Principle of democratic continuation with the Indian Government. For better Nagaland. God Bless.
