Reiterating to its earlier resolution on ban of hunting and collecting forest produces within its village jurisdiction, the New Chümoukedima ‘B’ khel (NCBK) has reminded caretaker of farmland and outsiders that any person/persons found violating the order shall be penalised accordingly.

A press release by NCBK secretary Theja Angami stated that, with the setting in of winter/dry season, all landowners are required to clear their land and develop it. It also stated that failing to develop their land/abandon the area for consecutive three years shall invite cancellation as decided earlier. The release also informed all villagers, landowners that selling or buying of land without the consent of the village leaders shall be doing so at their own risk. Any land dispute arising without proper village documents or knowledge of the leaders, the NCBK asserted that the said land shall be forfeited as village common property as passed earlier.
