NCSU advent Christmas honours Kohima traffic police personnel

Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) on Tuesday honoured two traffic police personnel in recognition of their service in dealing with the traffic menace at the state capital.

The recipients are traffic constables Nusütso Dawhuo of North Traffic Police Station and 15th IR Mahila Battalion Havildar Imtikala Imsong, attached to South Traffic Police Station.

NCSU secretary N Neilo Koza led the felicitation of the best traffic award 2020 coinciding with the NCSU advent Christmas, while NCSU president Pele Khezhie handed over the awards, which comprised cash of Rs 10,000 each and citation.

Delivering the message, NCSU advisor Povotso Lohe said that Christmas was a time for reconciliation between man and God, and appealed to all to remember that Christmas was a time to give thanks to the Lord, born to save humanity. While education came to Nagas through the Gospel, he expressed hope that the festive season would usher in peace and oneness among the Naga society.

NCSU president, Pele Khezhie extending greetings on the occasion said that this was a time to forgive each other and be of one heart. He informed that the picture of the award recipients as role model would be put up as a poster in the main town. He also extended best wishes for the New Year 2021.

Speaking on the occasion, deputy superintendent of Police (Traffic), Manom Wallim appreciated NCSU for the annual felicitation of traffic personnel during this festive season. 

Terming it a unique occasion organized by NCSU, he said “Your support encourages and keeps us going to deliver public service to the society”. Appealing all to celebrate Christmas in the true essence of rejoicing at the birth of Jesus Christ, he expressed hope that NCSU and its members would grow for the betterment of society.

Chaired by NCSU vice president K L Setuo Rutsa, the programme commenced with NCSU advisor Sawathang Kezseb pronouncing the invocation, special Christmas melody was presented by Inato Assumi, while NCSU secretary Imsunok tendered vote of thanks and advisor T Yanger Imchen offered benediction.
