NEPEX 2021 held in Shillong

On the second day of First Circle Level Online Philatelic Exhibition, North East Philatelic Exhibition (NEPEX), 2021 organized by the chief postmaster general, North East Postal Circle in association with the North East Philatelic Society, a Special Cover on Chabimura Tripura was released on January 29 by Ashok Kumar Poddar, additional director general (Coordination), Department of Posts in a function held virtually. 

Chabinimra is  Tripura also known as Chakwraktna or Chakrakma and famous for its panels of rock carving on steep mountain wall on the bank of river Gomti in Tripura. The spot has huge carved images of Shiva, Vishnu, Kartika, Mahisasura Mardini Durga and other gods and goddesses. 

Other dignitaries present in the function included  B. Chandra Sekhar, chief general manager Telecom, NE-1 Telecom Circle as the guest of honor; S. Mervin Alexander, chief postmaster general; T. Mang Min Thang, postmaster general; Som Kamei, postmaster general;  Subash Chandra Barik, director of postal services;  Suman Deb, general secretary, North East Philatelic Society and other philatelists. 

It may be mentioned that 48 Philatelists from the six states of North East; Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura have participated in this exhibition and have displayed varieties of postage stamps and stationeries on different themes. The exhibition will continue till 31' January, 2021. People can visit the exhibition at and enjoy the beauties of postage stamps. The event for the day can also be seen on YouTube.
