Faced with the employment imbroglio in the state, a Naga youth has opened a restaurant in Kohima with a view to create job avenues for the unemployed youths.

Talking to media persons after the opening of his restaurant, Le Bistro at Supply Colony, here Thursday, Vemele Dawhuo, said he was readying himself to leave for the US when he suddenly changed his mind and returned to Nagaland.

Although he got his permit to work in Florida, US, a month ago, Vemele said he turned down the permit so that he could continue with his long cherished dream of having a restaurant of his own here.

He was working at different restaurants including Le Meridian in Mahabhaleshawar and The Myriad at Pune, which deals in Food and Beverage (FNB), after completing his degrees in the hospitality sector.

Sharing about his experiences, Vemele said it was easier to work here than elsewhere and that he was more relaxed even in challenging situations.

He disclosed that the restaurant would be serving continental buffets every Saturday besides the regular French menus along with mocktails and cocktails.

Isak Kronu, a contractor by profession and honored guest at the opening, in a short speech said Nagas have a habit of trying their hands at every kind of business and failing altogether thereby becoming a liability to their people and society.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
