NEZCC to hold Shilpgram Mahotsav from March 13 to 15

The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), under Ministry of Culture, Government of India will hold Shilpgram Mahotsav from March 13 to 15  at its Shilpgram Comlex, Panjabari of Guwahati its 14th Foundation Day. The NEZCC Organizes Shilpgram Mahotsav consisting of cultural programme, exhibition cum sale of crafts and traditional cuisine every year to mark its foundation day. 

 A press release by NEZCC director Jitul Sonowal stated that the festival will show case a beautiful presentation choreographed by Dr.Prashanna Gogoi titled “ Ek Bharat Shretha Bharat” of folk and tribal dance performance from North Eastern States and representation all the Zonal Cultural centre including states like Jharkhand, Jamu & Kashmir, Gujrat, Uttar Pradesh & Maharashtra which will be followed by  rock  musical performance ‘Summer Salt’ on  March 15. 

On March 14, there will be an Odissi dance performance by Vani Madhav, five folk dances presented by different communities from India, followed by fusion and contemporary musical performance by Tetseo Sisters and Sofiyum. On March 13, Borgeet will be  performed by Pranami Kalita. Other highlights will be folk dances of North East - Eight performances by various artistes from NE,  Chiya Geet performance  by Shankardeva Shisu Vidya Niketan, Beltola and Luit Konwar Rudra Barua State College of Music-Guwahati, and six dance performances from various states of India followed by musical performance by popular singer of Assam Krishnamoni Chutia.

Young Talent Artiste Award for 2018 -2019 will be given of on March 15.

Governor of Nagaland & Chairman, NEZCC R.N.Ravi has consented to grace the occasion as chief guest in the closing ceremony on  March 15.  Padmashree awardee Nrityacharjya Jatin Goswami will grace the occasion as a guest of honour. Renowned folk singer of Assam Dhanada Pathak will inaugurate the festival on  March 13 , while V.B.Pyarelal (I.A.S. Retd.) and Jayanta Bhagawati renowned film and drama personality will grace the inauguration ceremony as guests of honour on  March 13 , at 5.30 pm as per Jitul Sonowal, Director NEZCC.  The entry will be free and open to all and all are invited to witness the mega festival, the release stated.
