 REFUTES NEWS REPORT ON SURRENDER

A three-member NSCN (K) team led by Niki Sumi have reportedly met Government of India officials in Delhi to deliberate on the group joining the peace parleys.
Sources informed Nagaland Post said that Niki and his team met Home ministry officials in Delhi days after Sumi’s offer to revive the ceasefire agreement.
Niki Sumi on December 23 announced that the faction, in order to facilitate the peace process, has decided to revive the cease fire with the government of India which it had unitarily abrogated in 2015.
Clarifying that it had established contact with Government of India (GoI) to revive ceasefire at the latter’s invitation to join the peace process, Niki Sumi-led NSCN (K) has asserted that this should not be misconstrued in any way as a sign of surrender or giving up Naga political rights.
Reacting to a report in “Republic TV” which reportedly claimed that NSCN/GPRN led by Sumi was heading for surrender, the group through its MIP kilonser, Nikato Pilot Sumi reaffirmed that it stood strong with its aspiration and commitment for Naga political rights till the time it was achieved.
Terming the reportage as outrageous and deserving utter condemnation for the simple fact that it was false, NSCN (K) condemned and rejected it, adding that the reportage was done without knowing even an iota of truth.  The MIP condemned Republic TV and other media houses propagating such “malicious news” that was detrimental to the peace process.
