Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker, Sharingain Longkumer has reminded the Ao community that it was in need of a socio-economic and political revival in order to be at par with others and to ensure that the future remains bright and hopeful for the younger generation.

He said this while addressing Kohima Ao Union (Kohima Aor Telongjem) annual general meeting at Molu Ki, Kohima on April 10, DIPR report stated.
He recalled how the Ao community in the past has been the torchbearers and leaders in various fields and has always been at the forefront by setting an exemplary example for others to follow.
He therefore called upon the gathering to retrospect on their achievements and make a careful study of the present scenario and assess what changes need to be adopted and work together towards uplifting the society.
He concluded by saying that as a community, one must go back to their roots and bring about reforms in various sectors from within oneself to ensure that the community moves forward in the right direction and at the right pace.
Earlier president, Kohima Ao Union, Chiden Yaden delivered the welcome address and with his tenure as president coming to an end, Chubalepzuk Ao was elected as the new president of Kohima Ao Union.
