Naga National Council (Parent Body) stated that the declaration of Naga independence on August 14, 1947 was acknowledged by the United Nations Organisation (UNO), and the plebiscite conducted on May 16, 1951 (referendum) declared 99.9% voted in favour of Naga independence. While these sovereign rights of the Nagas was resolutely declared by the Naga people and known by the entire world, the Naga National Council (Parent Body) stated that “this is our future in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world.” While wishing people to celebrate a safe and sound Christmas season, the Naga National Council also stated that NNC stands for the whole and all Naga people for peaceful solution of the Naga political problem.
