NSCN/GPRN response to Yung Aung

In the name of the lord Jesus Christ, good tidings and regards to all the Nagas. We are grateful for this opportunity and would like to indulgence of all Nagas in hearing our humble submission.

From the genesis of the Naga revolutionary movement, we, the Nagas on the east side of the forceful drawn boundary line, have always shouldered our responsibilities through thick and thin. Due to our areas being the staging base of Naga movement, we have borne the full brunt of unimaginable hardships and atrocities by the occupational force, yet with unabated hope and faith sovereign Nagaland, we have struggled in unison with an indomitable spirit with god as our only protector and refuge. Our sense of duty and commitment to our nation has never wavered despite the odds stacked against us. We have gone through trial by fire and attained martyrdom like any other Nagas in our struggle to attain our inherently sovereign political rights.

We would like to clearly place on record that we do not identify ourselves on the basis of the forcefully drawn boundary line. Despite, being on the east side of the border like many other Naga tribes such as Konyak, Thangkhul, Khiamniungans, Makury, Puchury, Wancho are strewn across on the other side of the unrecognised border. Of all the people, Mr. Yung Aung with his biological roots and inheritance in new Changlang, Changlang dist of the so called state of Arunachal Pradesh should know better than to accuse and rant about east-west division. We don’t ascribe to this ludicrously fallacious view, so our humble request to Mr Yung Aung would be to kindly desist from publishing or harbouring his imaginary ideas of an east west divide.

Our better conscious would not allow us to follow down the ruinous path that so many Naga leaders have fallen into; for reason best known to them. Therefore, we wouldn’t follow leaders who cannot shoulder the responsibility of working for the Naga nation towards achieving our inherent sovereign political rights. Naga people’s mandate for a sovereign Nagaland has always been our guiding principal and our ultimate goal.

Thus, in keeping with the glorious sacrifices of our forefathers, we have posed our unflinching confidence and faith in the leadership of our president Nyemlang Konyak Naga to lead Nagas towards our goal of sovereign political rights, therefore we humbly request all to kindly respect our decision as we collectively form a united front to defend and fight for our inherent sovereign political rights. Kuknalim.
