NSCN (I-M) Konyak region affirms to stand by FA

NSCN (I-M) Konyak region at its general meeting held on April 16, 2021 has “unanimously” declared to stand by the Framework Agreement (FA) signed on August 3, 2015.

In a press release, Konyak region CAO Phuae Konyak said that the meeting, which was held at Region Treasury, 5th Mile, Dimapur, was attended by all the civil authority and region members besides “high ranking military officers from major and above”.

At the meeting, NSCN (I-M) vice president Tongmeth Wangnao’s speech read out, in which he stressed that from the beginning of the Naga National movement and till date Nagas have achieved four very important landmarks in the Naga History among many events and occasions such as Naga Independence declaration of 1947, The Nagas’ Plebiscite of 1951, official recognition of the uniqueness of Naga History in 2002, and FA signed on August 3, 2015. 

Since the FA itself was “historic in nature”, NSCN (I-M) vice president said honourable, acceptable and lasting solution was a must and need of the hour. “Time is not real factor for solution but the issue is” Wangnao said.

Konyak region CAO said that the house also affirmed unflinching support to the leadership of 

president Q. Tuccu, vice-president Tongmeth Wangnao and ato kilonser Th Muivah.

CAO said that the declaration was made in the presence of the collective leadership member, Alam Wangshu. The meeting was chaired by CAO Konyak region Phuae Konyak while and deputy kilonser Mandao Konyak was session secretary. 

Earlier, Lemba Konyak offered invocation followed by welcome addressed by Konyak region core committee convener and Kilonser Sangti. Obituary reference and a mass silent prayer were observed.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by NSCN (I-M) steering committee executive member Akhah Konyak and benediction by “lieut. col.” Wangchun Konyak.
