Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has appreciated and welcomed the decision of the breakaway faction of NSCN (K) led by its newly elected president “gen. (retd)” Niki Sümi, to revive the ceasefire with the government of India in order to facilitate the peace process.  In a press release, NTC president Toniho Yepthomi and general secretary Nribemo Ngullie appreciated the government of India for “showing concern and favourable signs in response to the new development.” With all major Naga political groups now taking part in the negotiations to “solve the long drawn Naga political issue”, the NTC has urged upon the government of India to exhibit its sincerity in its effort to find an honourable and acceptable solution to the vexed Naga political issue without further delay.
