Odd-Even system in Dmu, Kma to continue

 Odd-Even system for non-essential vehicular movement in Dimapur and Kohima have been extended till September 30.

Both in Dimapur and Kohima, vehicles ending with Odd numbers- 1,3,5,7,9 can ply on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Even numbers- 2,4,6,8,0 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with no restrictions on Sundays. Further, two wheelers (without pillion in Kohima) have also been exempted from the restriction.

In an order, Commissioner of Police (CP) Dimapur, Rothihu Tetso, informed that regulations will be enforced within Dimapur town and NH-29 till Chumukedima. 

However, the category under essential services as notified earlier would be exempted, the CP stated.

Further, vehicles on bona fide government duties and those involved in providing essential services (COVID related duties) would also be exempted on production of relevant documents and valid ID proof.

All heavy vehicles except those engaged in four-lane construction work with valid permit would be restricted from plying within the town area and highway area from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kohima: In the order issued by deputy commissioner Kohima, it said that the regulation will be applicable to private vehicles including public transport (buses and taxis).

However, press, vehicles carrying emergency medical equipment, essential items, LPG and oil tankers and Manipur bound inter-state trucks carrying essential items have been exempted.
