NSCN (K) through its deputy kilonser MIP, Nikato Pilot Sumi has claimed that a mobile camp of the People’s Army of Nagaland(PAN) was attacked by “some misguided Naga nationalist.”

In a statement, NSCN(K) said that the attackers unsuccessfully tried to shoot one of the PAN cadre, who had gone to fetch water. It said an exchange of fire ensued but there was no casualties.
Further, the NSCN(K) claimed that the motive was likely to provoke and create a non-conducive Naga political situation.NSCN (K) said it failed to understand the intent of the “this misguided Nagas” and wondered how bloodshed would benefit the Nagas and the political movement.
NSCN (K) also said it “does not believe that fratricidal acts among Nagas would result or bring us closer to our ultimate goal of a sovereign Nagaland for Christ.”
