“Entry of tourists is not permitted and all tourist spots in East Khasi Hills shall remain closed,” the order specified.
Religious places and places of worship have also been permitted to re-open, subject to  strict compliance with the SOP issued by the Home (Political) Department, the order said, adding that night curfew will be promulgated in the district from 7 pm to 5 am on a daily  basis as part of containment measures because of the ongoing pandemic.
Meanwhile, nine deaths due to COVID-19 related complications increased the number of  deaths on this account to 1,278 and 317 new cases of infection added up to 3,062 active  cases, while 382 more recoveries surged the number of recovered cases to 69,425 on Sunday in Meghalaya, which has registered 73,765 confirmed cases so far.
