Peren and Mon have registered their victory during the day-1 of Group-B at the ongoing 1st Late G. Rio Memorial U-19 (Boys) Inter-District Tournament on Friday. Peren won by 82 runs against Wokha while Mon won by 50 runs against Zunheboto.

In the first match of the day between Peren and Wokha, the Peren team beat Wokha by 82 runs. Team Peren who won the toss, elected to bat first and posted 146/7 in 25 overs. Wicketkeeper Lalkishan top-scored with 31, while the skipper Parbez scored 24 runs. The other handy contributions came from Roko Nyekha (22), Ranjen (21) and Poiring (17)  

Randanbemo Odyuo and Thungchio Humtsoe  scalped 2 wickets each for Wokha while

Renben Kithan and Lichumthung Patton got 1 wicket each. 

In reply, Wokha were bundled out 64 runs in 17.3 overs with the highest scores being Randanbemo Odyuo with 14 runs not out and wicketkeeper Mhao Tsanglao scoring 10 runs. 

Peren put on a spirited display of bowling with Vicky accounting for 3 wickets and Parbez 2 wickets. Poiring, Haichuanei Newme, Roko Nyekha and Ranjen also claimed a wicket each.

In the second match, Mon beat Zunheboto by 50 runs.  After Mon won the toss and elected to bat first, they posted 111 runs for the loss of all 10 wickets in 22.5 over. 

While Apunkz Punknyei top-scored with 24 runs Altab and Rajesh contributed 21 and 18 runs respectively.

The chief wicket takers for Zunheboto were: Alopu Aye with 4 wickets and Abhi with 2 wickets. Hito K Assumi and Nighato H Yeptho scalped a wicket each.

In reply,  Zunheboto were bundled out for 61 in 14.2 overs with Alopu Aye  top scoring with 19 runs

Shejong Konyak was the highest wicket-taker for Mon with 3 wickets while Airong Konyak and Altab got 2 wickets each and Apunkz Punknyei  took one wicket.
